On Wednesday, March 27, stakeholders from all across Navarro County met at the Cook Center at Navarro College for our final Eclipse Planning Meeting. Representatives from numerous law enforcement agencies, school districts, fire, EMS, PHI, County Commissioners, City Mayors, Heath Department, Public Works, TXDOT, TXDPS, TX Parks and Wildlife Game Warden, CERT, Emergency Management and several others covered key information about expected visitor counts, emergency services preparations, events for that weekend, lessons learned from previous eclipse events, and of course the question on everyone’s mind, weather conditions. As explained yesterday, models this far out only give us a glimpse of possible weather conditions, but we look for this data to be much more accurate by late this weekend into Monday as model forecasts come into agreement on what we can expect. A tremendous thank you to all that attended and for your input from each discipline. We will keep Navarro County Residents posted on the very latest with daily updates beginning Sunday and into all of next week. #ncoem #preparedness #navarrocounty #eclipse2024
